Anger Management

For the A-Z Blog challenge, I will be addressing some of life's big questions. Perhaps together we can find the answers to many heretofore unsolvable mysteries.

is for Yelling

And bad tempers and rage and exploding frustration.

Why are we so quick to get mad?

I feel like everywhere I go people are angry and upset, and taking it out on other people. People who often have nothing to do with the mad guy's problems in the first place.

People are angry at work and it affects their ability to keep a steady job. People are angry at home, and it affects the whole family. People are just angry angry angry.

We even have an emoticon to help us express our anger.
When did we become such a temperamental society? Or have we always been that way? Maybe humans are an angry species.

And how would our lives be different if we just took a deep breath, counted to ten, and let it go?

  2. People are mad these days at a lot of things, and usually whoever comes along will suffice for them to dump on. Economics, job market, debt, the high cost of even low living, seniors, dogs, etc.

We expect instant gratification, and we want it now. Isn't that a set-up for disappointment? Flatten those organizations (too much at the top), and get prices and salaries back to the average person's level. That might be a start.

    1. I think you're right about instant gratification. I know my kids expect it. Good point.

  3. People are frustrated with so much and don't know what to do with it.
I love that song. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I'm a very calm person who doesn't need anger management...uh, until I get in a car.

    1. Well, I have to admit I have issues with bad drivers too.

  5. Some people, like my so-called fiancé's mother, were probably never taught how to express themselves in a calm, mature fashion, and only saw yelling and poor communication modeled growing up.

    1. Hmm... Am I sensing some family issues here? :) It's really hard to deal with people like that because no matter how kindly you try to talk to them about things, they always blow it out of proportion.

  6. I think I am mostly calm until something keeps eating and eating away at my patients continually. Then, I might snap. I usually try techniques to prevent it, but on rare occasions, I do get really angry.

    1. Good point. We do all get worn down eventually.

  7. I think it's that we've gained more stress but less ways to relieve it. Or, we're not taking advantage of the ways to relieve it.

    1. We certainly live in a society where stress is heaped and heaped upon us! It's hard to deal with it all.

  8. This is my biggest problem :( And I haven't always been as angry as I am now. Having kids has turned me into a crazy angry person! I'm not saying it's their fault, but somehow I just cannot deal with the frustrations of motherhood in a calm manner. And Rachel is learning anger from me, which is terrible. I guess I just have to keep trying to use the techniques I've learned to react in a better way. I could use some more ideas, though!
I do know I need to get plenty of sleep and eat at regular intervals (preferably healthy stuff). That makes a huge difference. Maybe that's true for other people. It seems like our society as a whole is sleeping less and grabbing quick bites to eat whenever we have a break in our busy schedules.

    1. I think you have a good point. People are seriously lacking in sleep and healthy eating habits, and it shows in our ability to cope with frustrating circumstances.

  9. Hey there, Yes, I have noticed that people do seem to be getting angrier. I think it is a combination of things, but probably mostly stress over the economy and how we are going to get through. It just seems that there is a major lack of manners in the world today, too. And teenagers, I think it has become a trend to be angry, like they think angry is cool or something. As for me I try to be a peaceful person, but I am only human and have been known to explode a time or two. Thanks for the video, that was a nice break.

    1. I agree, there is a real lack of manners, and self-censure. I feel like if people just thought for two seconds before they speak, a lot of problems could be avoided.

The angry teen thing is also a good point. It is like a trend to be overtly angry and negative about everything!

  10. If you have been taking anger management classes then anger management subliminal messages may be an excellent tool to use in addition to help control your anger. While you will not want to rely solely on subliminal messages to help you control your anger, you can easily add them to your tools to help to become more relaxed, and more resistant to anger.anger management class online

  11. there are several drugs which assist the riddance of alcoholism - such as www.aacsatlanta.com.
Those drugs alone are not enough to help with the problem, but when combined and specifically prescribed by a professional doctor, the results of this treatment is just as good.[www.aacsatlanta.com] see more
