Perhaps together we can find the answers to many heretofore unsolvable mysteries.
is for Mythological Creatures
This is something that has puzzled me for a long time. Why are mythological creatures always so much cooler than real-life animals?
Exhibit A:
Cool Mythical Creatures:
Toothless! Who doesn't want a pet dragon? |
Cerberus: Because three heads are better than one. |
The Hydra: if three heads are good... AND it's a dragon! |
A griffin: all the best real animals combined in one! |
An elf. Yes please. |
The Phoenix--born from the ashes? What's cooler than that? |
Thunderbird! Yes, they really do hunt whales. And transport people across time, but that's another story... |
Yoda. Need I say more? |
Exhibit B:
Less cool
I'm not saying all these lovely creatures don't serve a purpose. I'm just saying, not as cool.
What's your favorite fantasy-based creature?
Monday's Question: Will Love Save the Day? |
Unicorns! I would love to own a unicorn! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what my daughter said too!
DeleteI would love to own a Phoenix. And I love the reference to your own book :)
ReplyDeletePhoenixes (Phoenixi? Phoenix?) are awesome! Definitely one of my favs. :)
DeletePegasus, baby!!!! And Luna Lovegood - she's like a mythical creature.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason it doesn't surprise me that you pick pegasus. Good choice. (On both counts!)
DeleteYes, mythological creatures are definitely cooler. I love dragons and phoenixes, but there are too many cool ones to list.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to narrow down the list. And since they don't exist, you can just make up whatever you want!
DeleteI love them all, I'd have them all as pets if they existed! :)
ReplyDeleteAll? How big is your yard?
DeleteI loved How to Train your Dragon! It was cool that the dragons had dog and cat qualities; the animators did that intentionally to make them endearing. Totally worked (I'm a sucker for cats).
ReplyDeleteStopping by for the A to Z challenge!
They did a great job in that movie making the dragons personable. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteWait a minute, these guys aren't real? And the ones at the bottom are? How is that possible? :)
ReplyDeleteI like Hobbits, and fairies. I guess I'm attracted to small things.
Haha! Anything LOTR has my vote.
DeleteYour post cracked me up, especially the "Uncool worm!" My daughter has been in love with toothless since it came out. Yes that little dragon is way better than a bald cat and a monkey with a bare bottom! Found you A to Z
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
DeleteLOL! Orlando Bloom can be any type of creature he wants for me, even an elf;) LOTR are one of my favourite books.
ReplyDeleteVery nice post. Had me laughing all the way!
Thanks! Always glad to meet another LOTR fan!
DeleteLots of fun, this post. Your blog is terrific, too, and I'm following...

DeleteFantasy...mmhh... I love some of the creatures from Star Trek if they are fantasy: The concept of the Borg is somehow fascinating though creepy...stopping by via the "Surprise me" Button on the A-Z Challenge website.
ReplyDeleteMarcie, I'm glad you landed here! I'm not super familiar with Star Trek, but I'm sure it's cool!
