Perhaps together we can find the answers to many heretofore unsolvable mysteries.
is for Covers
What is it about covers that makes us feel safe? It's impossible to watch a scary show without full covers protection. And when it gets really scary, not even one toe can be out.
How can a sheet and a blanket protect us from this
or this
or any of these?
I don't know. It's a mystery.

Like being in the womb? If they can't see me, I'm okay?
ReplyDeleteThe womb feels safe, but also a little gross.
DeleteWeird, right? Even if I haven't been watching anything scary or if it's 100 degrees, I literally can't sleep without something covering me.
ReplyDeleteExposure just makes a person feel vulnerable. I agree.
DeleteHa Ha! This post so just took me back to when I was a kid and my brother would make me watch Nightmare on Elm Street. I always had to have a cover over me, which is kind of weird now thinking about it since the kids in the movie were attacked in their sleep!
ReplyDeleteYour parents let you watch that!?!? Scary!
DeleteDefies logic, but when you're little it works. Just as those monsters that lived in my closet.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, when you're a kid, logic is rarely applied.
DeleteBlankets hold magical powers of protection. I have heard that they are actually woven from the fibers of once brave knights who have slain dragons and other beasts. When we wrap these blankets of armor around our bodies we are engulfed in their protection and bravery and no hiding monstrosity can attack us. That's what I hear anyway.
ReplyDeleteAwesome comment and I'm pretty sure you're right about the magic powers and stuff.
DeleteI'm a covers girl. Even if I'm super hot, I still need something over me. It could be the weight of them. Not sure. It IS a mystery. LOL
ReplyDeleteJust having something between me and whatever is out here seems to help.
DeleteI think the idea is what we can't see can't hurt us. LOL. Great A-Z post!

I like it. If a tree falls in the forest...
DeleteOkay, I am such a wimp! Those pictures freak me out, covers or no covers.
ReplyDeleteYes, they freak out my daughter too. I recommend you don't watch Supernatural.
DeleteEEEGADS!!!

Deletehaha i know, it's crazy--maybe it just calms our nerve endings a bit :)
ReplyDeleteLike a soothing massage. I get it, tactile calming.
DeletePerhaps it is that love which repels evil. ???
ReplyDeleteSeems as though you have un-covered one of life's imponderables. And I cannot help you. When we Bears sleep, we never use covers.
ReplyDeleteNice pun. I guess bears come with built-in covers.
DeleteI should not have looked at this right before bed.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Maybe I should have added an advisory. Warning: Scary Pictures. Which is exactly what I googled to find them all.
DeleteI used to think my blanket would get up and karate chop any baddies coming for me. Thanks for posting. Also, you've won an award on my blog. Stop by to learn more.
ReplyDeleteKevlar of the mind. In reality, even the dog can get past 'em. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs during April
